AD Galaxy Traveler – Dev Blog #1: “So… We Decided to Build a Universe”
By Ashton Data Publishing, LLC — a.k.a. “The People Who Thought This Would Be Easy”

Hey everyone! Welcome to Day 1 of Something Potentially Amazing (or Mildly Chaotic).
Let’s be honest right from the jump:
Creating a sci-fi hybrid FPS/RPG video game sounded simple in the same way that assembling IKEA furniture “with no missing pieces” sounds simple. Reality? We have absolutely launched ourselves into hyperspace with half a tank of fuel, a bag of snacks, and unlimited determination.
But here we are anyway—building AD Galaxy Traveler, a game where you create your own character, fire plasma rifles, explore the stars, negotiate with shady alien merchants, and occasionally yell “WHY IS THE CODE DOING THAT?!” into the void.
So yes… adventure has already begun.

What is AD Galaxy Traveler?
Imagine if an FPS, an RPG, and a classic sci-fi tabletop game had a baby. And that baby was raised on energy drinks, 80s space opera soundtracks, and an unreasonable amount of ambition.
You’ll get:
• Exploration across a galaxy full of weird planets and even weirder residents.
• Combat with weapons that go pew, zap, fwssh, and occasionally KA-BLAMMO.
• Roleplay with skills, stats, choices, and consequences you’ll definitely pretend you intended.
• Story deep enough to get lost in—like that one drawer everyone has in the kitchen.

Development So Far (AKA: “How We Learned Sleep Is Optional”)
Here’s what we’ve tackled so far:
• Built the first prototype movement system
(Our character moved so fast at first that we accidentally invented light-speed travel. We fixed it… probably.)
• Started designing the main Space Station
• Began creating lore
(Half of it is brilliant. Half of it was written past midnight. You’ll never know which is which.)
• Debated what the alien planet should look like

Why This Blog Exists
To bring you along for the whole wild ride—the triumphs, the disasters, the breakthroughs, and the moments where we ask,
“Did we seriously just spend an hour debating the sound of a laser reload animation?”
You’ll get:
 behind-the-scenes updates
concept art drops
game mechanic reveals
dev team confessions
probably way too many jokes

Final Thoughts for Blog #1
We’re building something big, strange, exciting, and fun—and we want you right here beside us.
If you’re into sci-fi, FPS action, RPG storytelling, or just enjoy watching developers panic while smiling… you’re in the right place.
Stay tuned—more chaos coming soon. Blog 2 will describe some of the mechanics of the game
Until then… keep your plasma cells charged and your helmet visor clean.
AD Galaxy Traveler has officially begun.
